Cold Air Intake 2023 X5 m50i

Ok I know it has been asked, and probably answered. Which CAI are you running in your 2023 X5 m50i? It's time to do some upgrades, and I am thinking of starting with this..Then exhaust . TIA

Other than possibly aesthetics, there is zero value in doing a CAI upgrade. The stock system is already drawing cold air in from the grill area and the stock air boxes are sufficient for anything the stock turbos can handle.

Thank you! I figured as much..But wanted to ask...Exhaust seems to be the next option..I have seen some pretty costly ones, which I am not prepared to do as of yet..Will have to dig a bit..Thanks!

Not really, You can get the turbo sound spool also from them. Whoosh whoosh. But unfortunately, no one has done anything for m50i. I like the idea of putting those cone in the front like m5 and m3 can. So I ended up getting the x5m resonators to delete those extra whatever they are or name we have on our m50i

How has that worked out for you? You have an OE part number of those? TIA

It sounds like placebo effect in terms of power. Maybe the sound slightly changes from outside the vehicle but even when you uninstall the boxes and drive without filters, the suction noise is barely audible inside the car.

Yeah, this is not for power, just a little more air and sound. I have mine paired with BMS filters + RC black and soon with AA downpipes, it may help in something. Is not really expensive so it doesn't hurt to try.

Downpipes definitely change the sound and also give a nice amount of power. I had them on all my previous N63 engined cars but this time, I chose to stay away due to the smell. Maybe I am getting older.

I am sensitive to smell and even with 400 cell, I sensed the added smell but did not care for it as much for the last 12 years. At this stage, I prefer to have the new car/leather smell in my vehicle when I have clients in my car occasionally. Cannot take out the S Class every time.

Eventuri may one within the next week or two. They looked at mine at Mpact and think the new ones they have for the X5M’s will work.

I believe IND was going to be test fitting the Eventuri intake to their XM, which uses the S68. Will be interesting to see if it does end up working with the S68 engine.

Check the F95 forum. It fits the XM. The part number for the intake assembly for the F95 is different than ours. Looking at the front “intake resonator” part you can see it’s different than an M. We have a small top hat, if you will, whereas the X5M is a straight topless intake tube. Members on this board have swapped that part out to make the F95 front strut work for their Non-M. Other than this, looking a the pictures of the parts involved for this intake I don’t see why it won’t work. There pics showing where it connects up and its straight forward. RG admits, we won’t know until we know. I want to know

I run the BMC filter/charcoal delete and X5M intake tubes on my wife's X5M50. You can definitely hear a difference if you get on it but she never does....
