Online Petition to BMW: Bring the 1-series to NA

Well, lets atleast try to get their attention over at BMWUSA and get them to bring us this car a little faster. If you are interested in the 1-series and would get one, check in here and let your voice be heard.

We plan on forwarding this poll to them to try to get them to wake up !

Ok, BMWNA, I know you guys are hesitant to bring us a hatchback, what with the disaster that the 318i was, but you have to realize that car sucked, because you made it suck. You gave it too small of an engine, too low quality of an interior. It never lived up to BMW's image in the US, it never could have.

Fast forward to today and you see the hatchback class starting to burgeoun in the US. Audi has the A3 (with multiple models) and Volvo will have a C30 for us by the end of the year. VW is bringing it's golf along with it's R32. I have even heard Lexus is going to jump onboard with...get this...a BS model.

Seriously, give us the 5-door, upcoming 3-dr, or coupe version of the 1-series, and you will have 30-40k of my money (the upper end reserved for a hot-rod version). But do not waste so much damn time, please, because within 1.5-2 years I will HAVE to get a new car, and if it is not out by then, I will simply have to settle for something else.

Thank you, that was my rant

Good point on the new hatchback/small car movement we're seeing in the US now. I just read that the Audi TT hatchback (shooting brake) will be made. There's a market for this BMW, bring the 1-series!!

The 130i is getting rave reviews in the mags, and BMW enthusiasts who think BMW's are getting too large in general will flock to this car.

I had similar thoughts as well, I dont see why BMW wouldn't bring just the 130i over here in small numbers and sold at a good price (but below the 325i), I bet it would sell well by the 3 series owners that really just want a smaller car thats fast, and dont care about the rear seats being small...

To North American BMW Executives:

Please don't force me to buy a GTI, A3 or B200!!! They are all nice, but they are nowhere close to BMW and they are all fwd!!!

North America needs a BMW 1 and/or 2. North Americans will buy them, be they hatchback, coupe, sedan or convertible!!

Make mine a 130i hatch or 230i coupé in sparkling graphite metallic, beige interior with the sport package...

I figure I'm a typical entry level BMW customer (double income, mid-thirties professional, car nut, married, 1 kid, 2 cars), but the current 323i or 325i is about all that is in reach (and barely, if at all). And the 323i would be full of compromises for a car nut.

BMW should value people in the entry-level-buyer profile, because we're the one's that will buy in to the entry level, establish loyalty to the strongest brand in the auto market, and continue to trade up. That's my basic plan, because I identfy with the brand and I love the product (my parents currently have two).

But as the 3-series becomes bigger, better and more upscale, that opportunty fades. There are opportunuties to get into the luxury car class at the entry level (B200, A3, TSX, IS250), but until a 1-series or 2-series comes along, those opportunities lie elsewhere, unfortunately.

Come on BMW!!! Give us a 1 and/or a 2!!!!!

The 318ti makes a great track car, BMW just gave it the worst of everything from the factory. Re-worked with an S52b32 and a whole new suspension they are mean little hatches. And the interior was low quality.. And the transmission was GM..(I saw an engine that was pulled from a wreck with a GM transmission.)

Seriously though BMW needs to bring the E87 to America so I dont have to go to Europe for that awesome 120d M sport.. 48mpg? sweet.

Bring me my 135i at a fair price. The 3er is getting too big for my taste. The USA is in a small car movement. Wake up. Large SUV's, Large Cars are a waste of time and a waste of money. I am getting tired of my choices. I own a 323ci which has been a great car. However, I need something lighter and more responsive.

BMWNA,

Please bring the 130i and 135i hatchback, coupe, convertible, and whatever they decide to name the "///M" version to the U.S. The new 3 series generation are great cars, but a smaller and lighter 1 series would be wise decision as the entry level 3 series is growing in price. The fuel economy would also be a plus!

Thank you,
Eric

I am interested in a 130 (N52 w/ 260-270hp), 135 (N54), and a M Version, all in coupe form.

The M Sport Pkg should be offered to the NA Market at the beginning of the launch.

No more need for this thread.

The 1-series is definitely coming to the US starting with the 135i coupe. Plan on seeing it in showrooms Spring of 2008 with press communications beginning next month (July).
