I received the $7,500 lease credit and $13k off of MSRP on top of that. I spoke to every Houston area dealer that had one inbound and no one was willing to negotiate. The only reason I got that much off is because I have purchased so many vehicles from this particular dealership.

Just looked online, several dealerships are at 8-10K off without negotiation before $7500 lease credit! I wish I would have just waited and taken one off the lot had I known so many were going to be exactly like my spec. Oh well hindsight is 20/20!

Those are the 2023 XM base models, not the 2024 XM Labels. Dealers will get so a few of the Label edition that they will not really negotiate that much - at least not this soon. The only reason I got 13 K off MSRP plus the $7500 rebate on my XM Label is that my family has purchased about 10 vehicles from there in the last 6 or 7 years. You and I are probably one of the first dozen people to even have them, so they’re not going to negotiate this soon.

Believe it or not those are XM labels with discounts….NH, VA, FL, OH, MD. All have one allocation and discounted already. Better get them while you can!!!

Quick search also shows regular XMs going for 15-19K off without even negotiating!

And used XMs starting in mid 120s….so glad I am leasing so I can just give it back to them although if BMW XM label may hold value a little better if they keep production numbers low….

Leasing is the only way on this vehicle, regardless of the spec. And it’s the only way you get the $7,500 tax credit.

100% correct. That’s why I traded in my 2023 iX M60 after only 10 months of ownership. I was already down over 33% in the first year! When I purchased it in January of this year, they were nowhere to be found and dealers were selling them for 5k to 10k over list. Leasing is the only way to go on these super expensive vehicles.

The Label is just like the XM, demand simply not there but dealers know it already given the challenge with the base, discounts of $15K plus the $7.5K lease credit can be had already….

They’ve only been at dealer lots for just over two weeks. Every single one in the Houston area dealerships are either sold or has been pre-ordered with December deliveries. It’s way too early to make that assumption. Plus it’s not every day that people spend this much on a vehicle - any brand. Every XM in the Houston area has sold in a matter of weeks since it’s inception.

The federal tax credit goes to BMW Financial Services (since they are technically the owner) who is then passing it down to the customer through an instant lease rebate. These promotions change from month-to-month, so just because it’s there today doesn’t mean it will be there in December.

End of year deals

I'll be looking to lease an XM Label over the last few days of the year - Dec 25th to 31st.

I anticipate some good deals to be had if you are willing to travel to a dealer that is motivated to close a deal at the end of the year.

There may be an additional advantage to leasing as, in 3 years, BMWFS may be motivated to give you a buy out that is better than the lease contract residual. BMWFS has done so in the past, e.g., if the market for the returned vehicles softens more than BMWFS anticipated or the BMWFS stipulated residual, to move units, is just too high.

Current XM Label "inventory" (actual or in transit) seems to be around 70 based on cars.com.

This is a great plan as there are often deals at the end of the year. Last few vehicles were turned in with some equity which was great! I have been following inventory as well. Wonder how many will be produced globally and specificallly in the states. I am hoping number stays below 500 worldwide and under 150 here in the US.

They really messed up on the marketing of this particular vehicle. No one knows for sure if it’s limited to 500 units like it was originally when it was called the Label Red. Upon further review, it looks like they only dropped the word Red for vehicles for BMW North America, yet I still see Label Red when I log into my BMW FS account to look at my lease. Very inconsistent, but I’m with you. I hope they limit it to 500 vehicles.

Since you can still build and order my guess is they did not limit it any longer.. The way they handled the CS, CSL and other vehicles limited to 500 or 1000 was quite a bit different in terms of what the dealers could do, allocation was quite clear on those, on the Label it can still be ordered…

Yeah, they won’t limit these. If folks are willing to pay $20k more for 100hp and red bits they’ll make them all day long…

So it looks like I leased 10 days too early. Luckily my dealer took enough off of MSRP to compensate. They gave me $13k off MSRP and the $7,500 lease credit.

Update: Looks like the $9,900 cash back offer is on a financed purchase, not sure it applies to leases.
