This is very common on the iX, i4, and i7’s and is probably an erroneous error. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it keeps coming up every time you start the vehicle. If there’s actually a problem, you’ll see the warning every time you start the vehicle. I used to get these once every month or two on my iX M60. It usually goes away the next time you drive.

It sounds like a scary message, but it’s probably nothing to worry about. Nothing ever came up whenever my vehicle went in for service. Everyone gets these with an EV battery pack. It’s even less to worry about on this vehicle since it’s a hybrid. Unless it keeps coming up in the next few days, I would even think twice about it. I’m only speaking from personal experience and everyone else on the IX forum. Every new owner would ask this question eventually.

Happened twice on mine before it threw a check engine light… In my case it was the cooling valves for the battery, there is a bulletin on the issue with the XM because it’s been an issue with many… If the check engine light pops at some point that may be it.

You can use this non-official BMW site to check for any fault codes, open service campaigns, and stop sales that are associated to your vehicle.. It actually queries the BMW API’s and we used this religiously on the iX forum because there were so many issues. It is open source and is completely safe to use. May want to keep this link handy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it.
If it’s not listed here, then you probably have nothing to worry about. By the way, this will show you a lot more than the BMW recall site which only shows open, safety related recalls like airbags and things like that. https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app |

I had a error code this weekend... moral of the story I think I drove off before the systems did the full self check. I shut the car off , checked the gas cap and it was good to go 10 mins later.

Just picked mine up from the dealer they performed the fix for the valvetronic recall Plus addressed the drive train malfunction/ high-voltage system malfunction warnings that I had. They tested for two full sleep cycles and the systems working fine as of now. We shall see.
