Good bye Z4 - the final week

I was hoping to time it better but I found a buyer too soon for the Z4. I was hoping he could wait until my 135i arrives but he couldn't. He is coming to pick up the car today...

Here are some shots from the final week - I will really miss her.

Thanks Way. I just got it in December and I'm totally hooked on the brand. I would like to get a nice radiomir to match the luminor logo.

Agree, classic Pammy! I'd love one if I could afford it my Omega SMP Chrono will have to do

The new owner of my 325 comes tomorrow morning to collect it... Not overly sad, but would have liked to have sold it closer to the date of the 135s arrival!

Oh well

Bye Bye Z4

Yes nice watch! Nice how this car brings us connoisseurs of fine things together. I have a Rolex Oyster Datejust.

When are you expecting your 135i spdrcr?

So far all I've been told is March production, May delivery.

I would guess there would be a disproportionate number of audiophiles and coffee connoisseurs amongst us aswell

Will probably get a Sinn 303 or a 356 in the meantime (once I'm overseas)

There was an immaculate secondhand Radiomir at the watchmaker a while back, but I'm guessing it's already been sold

I like Sinn too. The 356 reminds me of the IWC pilots. I really like the U1 but that watch is more sport than dress.

I love the radiomir case but I think black hands lets down the 183 / 210. I'm holding out for a PAM190 as my next Panerai.

Yes that's what I've been told as well. Production is scheduled for week 13 (week of 24/3).

And yes that would definitely be the case with connoisseurs among us as well. I used to be a bit of an audiophile many years ago, but just got to busy to sit down and enjoy the nuances of sound quality that fine audio equipment offers.

What you do to indulge in coffee?

Another thing I'm into is boating. I have a 17.5 ft Southwind with a 115HP Yamaha. Unfortunately it doesn't get enough use because I am too busy. Would like to get a bigger boat when I do eventually move back to Sydney in a few years. Sydney Harbour and the Hawkesbury are fantastic places for a boating enthusiast.

I have noticed that a lot of people who like cars also like watches. I myself have a few Rolex's, Tags, Cartier etc. I wanted to get myself one just like yours, but never gotten around to it. Maybe this year...

I have a twin thermobloc machine and grinder at home. I haven't been using it much lately though. I got a Jura Z5 for the office. It's an automatic (which is always going to be a compromise) but it is the best of the bunch and a much better solution than a semi-auto for an office environment.

I go all out with the beans though - freshly roasted (and delivered) every two weeks from Hazel de los Reyes at Coffee Alchemy. One downfall of the coffee obsession is that it is difficult to enjoy a coffee at most cafes.

Being in Tassie, good coffee in cafes is more of a rarity than on the mainland. Fortunately I have a commercial machine at my disposal so I make my own coffee.

Did you know that 0.25 of a good coffee is the beans, 0.25 the equipment, and 0.5 the person making it. So if you want great coffee, go do a barista course or get a barista friend to give you a few pointers as I have.

Personally, I think the coffee is only as good as the weakest link (barista, beans, grinder, machine, milk). In my experience you are correct, usually it is the barista that lets it down.

Am I the only one here who doesn't drink coffee? When I go out for coffee with friends, it's to drink tea or hot choc lol.

I drink coffee, and would love a good one, but I'm used to Sydney swill, which means I can drink coffee from anywhere.

Looks like you are the exception that proves the rule Way

I also love great watches, but I'm making do with a Seiko Kinetic until my holiday

Geez, there's a few old threads being revived lately...

I'm a bit late to put in my 2 cents worth, but here goes.

Way, you're not alone - I don't drink coffee. Love the smell of it though.

I love watches! Got a Panerai GMT myself, and more recently a Chopard Gran Turismo. Next on the wish list is a Tag Carrera, not sure which model I want yet. The Sinn 356 looks great, too.

Sorry to continue the thread hijack but I'm another watch fanatic. This is the classic racing watch IMO:

Others in my collection:

- Vintage Rolex GMT Master (1985) - acrylic crystal, red and blue bezel
- Vintage Rolex Air-King (1970)
- Vintage Heuer Carrera (1964) - see above
- JLC Master Geographic - superb watch
- Omega Seamaster Professional - my swimming/snorkelling watch
- Omega Speedmaster Professional - the classic Moon Watch
- Vintage Zenith 230 S (1960s) - picked it up for US$140 on eBay, runs like a dream
- Zenith Elite 680 - one of the thinnest automatic movements made and a classic dress watch
- Tag Heuer S/EL - my beater watch
- Longines Conquest VHP - my only quartz but accurate to 10 sec/year, plus it's titanium so it's super light and it has a jumping hour
- A Seiko 5 Military Automatic that I use for travelling in 3rd world countries

Next on the list is either a Patek Philippe Calatrava or annual calendar and an A. Lange & Soehne.

Nice one gents - I'm yet to take the deep-end into watches. My parents are waiting for me to select a watch for my 30th Birthday....

Any recommendations.. was going to go for a Longiness Evidenza...

I'm quite partial to my Automatic Tag Heuer. As an (electrical...) engineer, I like the idea of an old style mechanical movement. 'Would like a similar style waterproof Rolex or Omega, but they look to big on my puny wrist. After shoppping around the world for the best deal over a few years, I finally bought mine at a Tag dealer in KL three years ago.
