Car Care Products that are safe for "PPF"
I want to use this thread for the public to list known Car Detailing Products that are safe on PPF, if you will, please support your products by the SDS sheets before suggesting.
To get things going, all products containing “Petroleum Distillates” is detrimental to paint protection film over time. |

I've been using Sonax Spray and Seal after washing (prior to drying) for ~5 years on XPEL PPF with no adverse affects.
I'm not sure how else Petroleum Distillates show up on ingredient lists, but Sonax provides all ingredients and the SDS sheet for all it's products: https://www.sonaxusa.com/ingredients.html For Spray and Seal specifically: - ingredients: https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-vrb1...243400-755.pdf - SDS: https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-vrb1...-Seal-2021.pdf (Phil's M2 video got me to try it first: https://www.detailersdomain.com/prod...spray-and-seal) |

After doing a bit of googling, it sounds like this “no petroleum distillates” is false. There are quite a few other forums and debate topics about this with users reporting years of using distillates on PPF with no ill affects. For further evidence, I will offer the XPels own PPF sealant SDS sheet. https://www.xpel.com/web-assets/down...nt-EU_V1.1.pdf Petroleum Distillates is the top ingredient and an even higher concentration than the spray polish I was using. |

That’s interesting, I’ll definitely present this information to XPEL as they are the ones that I was trusting to provide the correct information. |
