I ordered my 45e two years ago during covid/chip shortage. At the time BMW was giving the option for picking any color available in their individual colors catalog usually reserved for the M products. Anyone know if it will be possible to do this again?

For my recent order I wanted the Marina Bay Blue but settled for the Tanzanite. Hope they would bring this customization option back.

That never was the case with the G05 in the US as far as I know. The Individual colors that have been available are based on the pre-approved list.

When I was ordering my 2022, The dealer told me they just needed the color code and they have a window where the factory is accepting many of the individual colors. I passed at the time because of cost (~$5k), but they had a two 45e's in stock with individual colors. One was marina bay blue, the other was frozen black.

As your dealer hinted at, not all colors were available. Here are the colors that were available for MY22:

Much better selection of what they are offering now. I might call Genius and ask if any are available. I am told you can change anything in spec while its in 112. Appreciate it!

I think you are getting bad information. They are currently offering 52 different Individual paints. Earlier I posted a link to them.

You may not be able to change paints and it you do your order status will change and your production will be pushed back to the next Individual batch.

Wish I had joined the forum earlier then. I had a reservation with a local dealer that told me no individual colors are being accepted and even though I had B51 as the color I wanted. My order was sitting idle with them for 2 months as they said there were no allocations. I then called another high volume dealer which had an allocation immediately and had a production number for me within a day. I wish I would have brought up the paint question to them. '

Either way, Tanzanite is amazing and with matt PPF will look extra nice :
