Painting the rear diffuser black?

Anyone else hate the color of the stock rear diffuser? It's got that ugly, cheap, grey-plastic feel to it. I suppose the best looking solution right now would be the CF diffuser. But @ ~$1250+ it's a bit much to swallow, especially since it's 99% form, 1% function (if that).

As a cheap alternative I'm thinking about having the stocker painted gloss black to match the shadowline trim and kidney grills. Cost to paint would probably be < $100.

Opinions? Comments? Discuss.

It's been done, and looks pretty sharp.
