Good deal or not
Hey guys, iam looking at a 2019 x5 at a dealership in toronto called Favorit Motors in North York.. I live in Saskatoon so if i buy it will be sight unseen.. It looks like a great purchase and the price is reasonable, i am thinking $41000.00 would be more appropriate, and the car has a damage claim of 20 grand from an accident on the rear driver side.. Can someone give me a bit of direction on purchasing this vehicle.. has anyone dealt with this dealership... Should that accident be of concern for me as its out of warranty?? Any help would be appreciated ..

Personally, I probably wouldn't buy a car that had sustained that much damage.....zero chance I would buy it sight unseen. Can you hire an inspector to go check it out for you? It would be money well spent IMO if you really want it.

I am not familiar with Canadian used car market but this sounds like a really bad deal to me, 41K CAD=30500 USD, average price for the used 2019 X5 in US is ~35K with clean title and no accidents, I would add more money to the budget, rather gamble with the car which had 1\2 of car worth in repairs. This car would be impossible to sell too. I would never buy a used car which sustained major damage, tbh I am surprised this car was not totaled (may be rules in Canada are different, idk).

I wouldn't touch it personally. Anything with a wreck history is a no for me regardless of damage or cost of damage. Will be harder to resell or retain a decent trade-in in the future with history like that.
