SOLD: BBS RG-R Forged 17" Staggered Wheels

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
SOLD!

BBS RG-R Diamond Black forged 17x8 et40 fronts and 17x9 et42 rears. Used and in wonderful condition, they are gorgeous and very lightweight at 17.4 and 17.8 lbs. If you are serious about the wheels PM me and I'll email close ups of the minor nicks. BTW, those are clouds overhead reflecting from the center caps, not flaws in them.

I bought them to use on my 135i but there just isn't enough clearance (< 1mm) on the rear brake calipers. These would work fine for a 128i with stock brakes or any E36 List is $2620 + shipping, offered at $1750 shipped to lower 48.

Such a darn shame. Seems like we can't win, either the offset is too low or they don't clear the brakes.

They'd be really nice on a 128, good luck!

Is it offset or or diameter that is the problem.
I thought that the larger brakes reqired 18" rims?
Nice wheel by the way.

Diameter, offsets are nearly perfect. Even though there is a factory 17" wheel option for the 135i, the BBS 17x9 shape inside does not allow enough rear brake caliper clearance, so I never even mount tires on them.

At the moment, for 135i. These forged RG-R staggered would be killer on the 128i though.

On my 135i +/-1mm clearance in rear. Fronts were OK at 3mm. Would be great for the 128i.

Nope, spacers aren't the solution as the RG-R inside circumfrence is even across the wheel and pushing a et42 9" wide wheel out with a spacer would cause fender/tire rubbing.

Like I said, it's a great setup for the 128i, not the 135i.

They are excellent wheels. The non-1Addict I sold them to was really happy to get them and is mounting them on an E28 M5. They will look great on that car!
