Badge Cleaning Questions

This may sound ridiculous, but I don’t want to do anything to harm my new baby, so consider this an entirely legitimate question:

Cleaning the BMW insignia in the center of the steering wheel and the tiny M badge at the bottom of the wheel: I’ve seen a few ones with bad scratches on both and I want to be as delicate as possible. I know that the M badge is reeeeeeeally small, but I still don’t want to inadvertently scratch it up. Suggestions?
