33% of spark plugs are fake

This is nothing new, and the actual percentage of fakes probably varies by the market and the region you live in (and of course, by the sample size and sources)

I am a bottom feeder on eBay, and I also use Amazon often, but I never buy my spark plugs (or critical parts) from any of those two places unless they are sold directly by the spark plug maker or a reputable verified source.

So that leaves pretty much only either the physical stores here in the US, which are higher priced, or places like FCP Euro, etc. I would not take a chance because a fake spark plug will create a lot of additional problems that you will have a really hard time troubleshooting.

There are easier ways to tell if your spark plug is fake by doing a resistance check. You could probably Google it or check on YouTube to see what parameters you should find when measuring.

Good advice!! With how common counterfeit plugs have become, sticking with reputable vendors is usually worth the extra few bucks to avoid headaches later.

I'd even be hesitant to buy something like this off of Amazon even if they were showing that it's being sold by the manufacturer. It's still shipping from an Amazon warehouse, and you're hoping that their overworked, underpaid employees are pulling the stock from the right place. I'd rather just go with FCP Euro, et. al., even if I'm paying a bit more, to make sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to be getting. Just too much counterfeiting on Amazon for me to be comfortable buying something mission-critical from them.
