Is it even removable?

Hubs, what are you asking? Removing the shift lever? Upgrading it? Of course it is removable, but for what purpose?

All a removeable. Same method as manual gear shifter - pull up hard.

Also subject thread should be a little more specific...

I'm going to have the silver piece on the shifter painted to match my car.

I need to know if it's a pain in the ass to remove.

Just straddle the center console (one leg in each foot well) and pull like a mother.....try not to hit yourself in the forehead when the knob comes off (something I did on my Z4 haha)

I have a convertible, so the roof should be down, huh?

What about the selector switch? Push in? Leave alone?

Not so sure what difference having the roof up or down would have. Put it down so you have more room to work.

No need to do anything with teh shifter switch
