Extended Warranty?

I read a post in here that BMW offers a two year extended warranty. I know that the warranty is not through BMW themselves, but through an approved 3rd party. I have a few questions about this...
1) Can you buy the extended warranty after you have purchased your E90?
2) Is it worth the extra $$ ( I think it was $2k), considering all of the extra electronics in the vehicle?
3) Does it cover everything that is insured by BMW's 4 year complete warranty plan?

Thanks for the help and happy driving!

PS Hope to get my baby today or tomorrow!

Aftermarket war's are ususually good but... generally hold a fairly large markup that a dealer will make. You CAN and SHOULD negotiate on the aftermarket war price that you get from your dealer. Also, please make sure to read over the war details before purchasing it, compare it to others that are on the market via the web and make an educated choice. You can always buy an extended war but... sometimes... the deductable and such ends up costing more than the repairs you would see in that time frame. Remember, they are out to make profit to, and BMW is to say the least, a dependable car with routine maintenece.

Available up until you get to 4/50. My dealer offered it to me for $1495. He SAID it was just the same 4/50 out to 6/100, but I didn't read any of the print, nevermind the fine print.

The BMW Original Owner Warranty is similar to the warranty they offer on the certified preowned cars. It covers everything the original warranty does except stereo and nav. It also adds a $50 deductible. its an extra 2 years / 100k miles. i believe you can purchase it at anytime during the original warranty coverage.

Additionally BMW offers an extended maintenance plane which adds another 2 years / 100K miles to the scheduled maintenance.

I paid $1195. My understanding is that dealer cost is $1095 and most dealers start it at $1295.

I showed them that page but they said it was old and the plans for the E90 were more expensive. Its probably a lie, but It does look like the page hasn't been updated since 2004. Oh well I could have saved another $100.
