▀▄ eas - mObridge iPod interface available for e9x M3!

The mObridge iPod Kit seamlessly integrates the iPod with the head-unit of your MOST-equipped vehicle. The majority of newer BMW vehicles are equipped with an internal data (transporting audio, video, voice, data, and all other information and entertainment content) network, connected by optical fiber, known as "MOST". mObridge are experts in this technology and are therefore able to provide BMW drivers with technically superior solutions at value that is unmatched by solutions offered by BMW themselves or other aftermarket alternatives.

The mObridge AUDIO iPod interface is not limited to 250 songs or folders like the BMW CD changer or BMW's own iPod kit, but supports the entire iPod contents as well as providing an auxiliary audio input and allowing manual mode control. It is available for vehicles whether or not the vehicle supports MP3 -- in the BMW models that do not support MP3, mObridge will emulate CD tracks.

The mObridge AUDIO product line seamlessly integrates the iPod into the vehicle's multimedia network to allow full control and access to all Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genre, All Songs as well providing an auxillary input audio connection for external additional audio devices. The audio interface also provides full control of Random modes, Repeat and Scan as well as providing the ability to switch the iPod out of lockout mode (most other iPod vehicle kits require the iPod interface be locked out from the user) and provide manual control over the iPod and the ability to use simple track up and down. The iPod is also charged while attached to the interface using USB charging. This is also a unique advantage versus competitor solutions that either may not be able to charge your iPod or they will not support the latest generation of iPod that only charge via the USB connection.

Standard Features
- Supports iPod Mini, 4th Gen, 4th Gen Photo, Nano, 2nd Gen Nano, iPod Video, 3rd Gen Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPhone (2G & 3G)
- Firmware upgradeable via memory card for future features.
- 24 bit ADC stereo for a more complete experience.
- 500uA Sleep Current. Lower sleep current draw than OEM specifications. - Configurable for all vehicles via iTune's MP3 tag.
- Configurable for First five playlists, numbered playlists or full folder support for iPod browsing.
- Paging to gain access to lists greater than the CD limitation of 99 giving full access to the iPod. Also possible on radio's without text support.
- Last disc, last folder, last track memory retention for fast startup.
- Access to Playlists/Artists/Albums/Genre/All Songs.
- Random, Repeat, Scan options.
- Auxiliary input for external audio source.
- Exit iPod lockout mode for manual control with the ability to continue track up/down from the steering wheel controls.
- iPod USB charging.
- Bypass switch to remove interface from the MOST ring, allowing "undetectable mode" for dealer visits.
- Dedicated Auxiliary override for phone system input.

Detailed Specifications

Optic fiber connector:
- MOST vehicle interface with integrated wiring
- 12V input switch allowing for Aux audio override

iPod connector:
- iPod shielded cable and socket
- Firmware upgrade via integrated SD slot
- mObridge Audio interface configuration via iPod

Aux Input:
- Auxiliary audio input allowing line level input from any audio source
- Selected via DISC6

Memory Card:

Committed to Quality
mObridge is committed to ensuring that which ever kit you purchase, it has been thouroughly tested before final release to the consumer to ensure a quality product is delivered.

Why buy a mObridge after-market car kit from eas?
- All of our products are firmware upgradeable - this means that your investment is future-proof and will support the latest iPod models and features as they become available.
- Buy direct from an authorized technology partner, not a reseller. All BMW testing/development was performed in-house.
- Experts in MOST. Our products will "play nice" with your vehicle, ensuring that your existing vehicle electronics will be unaffected by the upgrade.

And most of all...

Our products work! Some distributors are launching products that have crippled or non-existant functionality. Our products are full featured and we don't skimp on functionality just to be first to market.

Professional CD (non I-Drive)

STEP 1:
Under "Audio", select "CDC" (cd changer)

STEP 2:
This screen will look exactly the same as if you had a cd in the cd changer. You can set up playlists, using your radio preset buttons here. Select "List" to take you to your typical iPod menu.

STEP 3:
Once you have selected "list" you will see your standard iPod menu, showing "Artist/playlist/albums/podcasts etc etc". I selected "Artist"

STEP 4:
Once you are in the "Artist" menu, you can browse using the right knob on your stereo, just like you would with an iPod.

STEP 5:
Select an artist to listen to.

Step 6:
Select a song to listen to.

If you are not originally equipped with a CD Changer, it will need activation from your local BMW dealer after installation.

I do have the CD Changer so is it an easy DIY? Could you send me the install instructions?

yes, should be an easy swap for you. If you are experienced enough to remove your stereo, you can install this

Absolutely - mObridge is compatible with all e9x and e8x applications - including US and euro models.

Does this product support plugging in a USB flash drive or some sort of memory card with MP3's?

Media streaming support says "coming soon" that's why I'm asking...

mObridge does not have USB support, but the Bluetooth kits do support A2DP streaming.

Do these only work for the 08s M3s? Or are they compatible with a CIC-based 09+? (I have a 2011 without 6FL.)

mObridge is also compatible with 09-11 CIC-based iDrive as well as MY08.

Does the dealer need to have this pluged into activate the CD changer? Or can I ask them to just activate the CD changer with nothing there?

Dealer will need a CD Changer fitted as coding requires a pingback response from the CDC.

We can perform coding and are located in Anaheim. If you would like to perform the install yourself, we can simply code in advance for you.

Sorry for the late reply on this. mObridge's site still indicates that it won't work with the newer CIC iDrive. If you guys have tested it and it works, I can take your word for it... but I'd love to be sure, since I'd have to get my car coded to take a CD changer. (which I'm not even sure was an option on the CIC-based cars)

I failed to order 6FL on my car and am trying to find a solution. Thanks Tom!
