What types of Radar does Miami-Dade use?

I heard come agencies in Florida utilize POP. Is this true?

Is the x band garbage over there like it is over here? Anyone get a true x band radar cop sighting? What about K band?

Is laser heavily utilized?

i have only been lasered by FHP, and that was only 1 or 2 times in the last 4 years. Miami-dade is usually K or Ka. i have never seen an X signal, in fact i have X band turned off on my V1.

How do you turn off the X-band on V1?

My experience all over South Florida, be it a local cop, county sheriff or FHP, has been Ka. I've encountered one laser (my only speeding ticket, ever), and it was a bike cop.

I'm getting the laser interceptor system installed. It's not even to save money (I likely won't save much as the system will cost me close to 2K installed) it's out of principle.

I'm going to be upgrading my setup to include the Escort Laser Shifter. I got hammered by one of the new laser guns a few months ago. By the time the detector went off, I was already toast.

As a couple have mentioned.. FHP, (especially bike troopers) use laser, but most others seem to be on Ka or K bands. I've also been tracked with Vascar (normally by small airplanes... again FHP).

Like most mentioned I've only encountered K or Ka, FHP use lasers most of the time. I see allot of X band but that's usually shop doors or Publix things like that.
