Solid 18'' wheel recomendations

Hello,
Looking to get a set of solid 18'' wheels to withstand everyday driving. I guess an option is just to use stock 189's. Anyone running any 18'' wheels that feel as solid and strong without worrying about getting a bend every pothole that is hit?

Thanks!

Its important to note that any wheel setup can be damaged by a decent sized pothole. So be sure not to lull yourself into a false sense of security by letting your guard down in regards to scanning for potholes as you drive on rough roads.

That being said, BBS and OZ both have reputations for building strong wheels.

Gary

Thanks Gary,
Remember getting rims and tires for my e46 from you guys. If i got a staggered set of 18s, what is the tire size recommended or most rubber I can add to give more protection?

Thanks

235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear would be a good place to start. OEM sizes are 225/40/18 and 255/35/18, but I would go with the wider sizes if you wanted a bit more meat on the wheels. It would provide more protection as well.

I like the M3 reps for 18 inch set ups for sure. Go with 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rears.

I find that Beyern makes very strong wheels, reasonably low prices too.

235/40R18 would work up front, it is a little bit taller than the normal 225/40R18. We've had reports of rubbing with setups that are much taller.

just a suggestion but forgestar is comming out with 18s pretty soon and they will weigh in at around 20lbs..if you sticking with 18s get something that is both strong and lighter than stock..and the forgestar or flow formed which is stronger than the usual gravity or low pressure cast wheels

If this is true, I do like their f14 style rim. I haven't seen anyone selling them in 18s yet though.
