Yes but the moment of inertia is closer to the hub so 18's may still perform as well or better.

intersting how a car with 400+ HP is considered much slower by having leather and a sunroof. 99.9% of drivers here (with the exception of Tony Kanaan) don't have the skills to make good on the weight difference, yet they they market the car as having an advantage....

GLWS!! Try starting in the high 40's or even $50K.

We all know that the E9x is a bit of pig. I wouldn't mind it if our cars were 400lbs lighter. What I don't understand is when people try to make there cars lighter with an exhaust and they ordered the car to have every option possible. The point is, this is a great starting point if you want to go even lighter(exhaust, wheels, insulation, battery etc.) There are significant weight savings by eliminating, NAV, Power seat, Sunroof, no fold down seats, premium sound, EDC, heated seats, power rear shade, DCT etc. It all adds up...

Good Luck with sale OP!

I wonder what the weight savings would be without those options. If that takes around 200lbs off, then it's a great car to buy. A leaner M3.

Well the lowest stock M3 I have heard of was 3540lbs with full tank of fuel. It only had 19" wheel option. To answer your question, I have been keeping track of various posts on weight savings, here is what I got:

Sunroof: 44lbs
Power seats: ~15lbs
NAV: ~12lbs
Fold Down Seats: ~38-40lbs
Ehanced Audio: ~20lbs
EDC: ~10lbs
DCT: ~44lbs
TOTAL 183lbs

Now if you do this:

Wheels: ~20lbs
Exhaust: ~30-35lbs
Trunk CF VRS: 11.1lbs
Battery: ~30lbs
TOTAL 96lbs

So we have almost 300lbs without doing anything too extreme like removing the insulation, back seats, etc. Sounds good to me and there is more areas you can shave wieght! Anyone who thinks 300lbs doesn't make a difference is kidding themselves.

Too bad this doesn't have the tech package and leather. I'd be all over this.

Oh BTW, the car is financed through BMWFS, so you can assume the loan through my dealer if someone wants to take that route.
