A long time since my last post. Anyway, anyone know of any good tinters in the sydney area? Also if you did get a tint, what type did you get? -m |

Man ive got to say, get it done at your dealership because anywhere else is high risk of bubbling up. The percentage of tint, it depends with what taste you have. I mean usually 25%-35% tint is on the sportyier cars. If you like dark tinted windows go for these percentages.

i got a friend who works at the bmw dealers in perth and he told me not to get it in the dealership because they are overpriced. he told me to get tinting done at solartint (the one in perth), which is a couple of minutes from the dealership and they charge half of what the dealerships are charging for. lol

Hey guys didn’t really want to start a new thread.
I recently purchased an E90 Sport and tried to get them to chuck in window tint as part of the deal. They (Canterbury BMW) said it was not possible for this to be done as the windows of the E90 slides up and done very close to the door and if the tinting were to be done it would scratch the glass as a result. I suspect all this is bullshit and told him how I saw other E90s with tint. Any who they wouldn’t do it so am just wondering what you guys would suggest in terms of Window tinting. I was thinking maybe Solace or Tint-a-Car. Has anyone had any luck with these guys? Thanks in advance, Kash. Last edited by kash_0; 03-11-2007 at 12:34 AM.. |

This is all bullshit. That's why I never go Canterbury again (heard they have replaced the manager recently).
I got mine done by the dealer as part of the deal. The job was perfectly done. If you can wait, I can email the sales and ask who did the job for my car.

Dealerships DONT tint windows. They send it out to be done. They will take ownership if it develops any problems and ensure it is rectified quickly.
However, they generally charge you double the market rate. I had mine done last week in Brisbane by the same people who do Brisbane BMW work. Dealer quote: $595 Direct price: $245. Dealer would pay less than my $245 and hence why they generally will throw it into a deal to close as it's not an expensive thing. An E90 sedan takes 2.5hours to tint. This place has new cars lined up. They also do the paint protection and rust proofing. |

well then get it done at a cost of $200, that is verrrry cheap (i couldn't help being sceptical for that price about what film they use though...)
