the problem with this, if you look at Bav19's trim swap DIY is that the chrome trim "bubbles" when you pry it off the car because it is made of metal.

yip, the chrome trim would be bent (which would suck for you), while the black trim comes off easier (good for the other guy)
so you wanna swap with my chrome? Quote:

As other posters have stated, you can not take all of the trim from the 330i. You can take the upper window trim, but the window sill trim will bend, and cause bubbles and imperfections in the surface.
A 330i owner could use all of your trim though... So you could still come out ahead by not having to pay for the most expensive part... the upper window trim... I was lucky enough to get the chrome kidney grills and all the window sill parts from James at Bimmerworld. We did a trim swap as he took my black trim, while I got his chrome. He was even nice enough to pay for my window sill trim after we found that the trim swap wasnt going to work... |

I would only be looking to do the window trim and not the sills. The window trims seem not to bend and bubble. Am I correct in stating this. Thanks for all the info.
