Advice in exhaust

Hello everyone,

I picked up a 335 this past Monday and felt as if it was the perfect time for me to finally register onto this forum. I am new to this community and new to bmw. I made the transition from vw and to be honest it feels great.

The mod bug has already infected me and I am desiring a new exhaust. I have heard all the clips that are on the sticky but the problem is that I can't really gt a good understanding of the actual sound. Thus I am here to seek your help.

Basically I am looking for an exhaust that I can keep tamed under 4k rpm but at high rpm I would like to hear it thunder. Like everyone else I do not want it to sound ricey. I did like the sound of the bastuk but I am afraid it is too tamed at higher revs. Being young (27..... Atleast I hope it's till considered young) I do admire that "hey everyone look at me and my car" image. I know it's a bit juvinile but this is the biggest purchase I have made in my entire life and I worked so hard at it I think I deserve it.

Any input would be appreciated. At the moment I am debatig between the ae design, the bastuk and the cpe. If anyone can gve any input on these exhaust it would be appreciated also If there are any other exhausts that may fit my liking that I may have overlooked please do share.

I decided to post this as local because I trust the locals. So if you have one of the above setup and live in jersey or new York (manhattan) and wouldn't mind meeting up please let me know.

Thats the exact setup i'm thinking about as of now, along with catless dps and fortunately it is within my price range.

I would love to hear this setup in person especially how it sounds at higher revs. From the videos it sounds sick at lower rpm's and idle is just perfect, just as i would want it. But then again with videos you don't get the actual taste.

Since this is going to be my daily driver, i would want it tamed at lower revs for everyday use and "when I fancy a drive" I would want it to beast.
Does anyone with this setup experience what I stated above?

thanks in advance

i'd go with that or bastuck with catless, which isn't as tame as you think in the higher revs at all, sounds like a ferrari at points, i have a friend who has it and it is hands down the cleanest sounding exhaust..( i have one on order)

I've heard cpe, ae, and bastuck in person, and here's my opinion.

CPE sounds pretty good overall, and was my original decision on an exhaust...until I heard the Bastuck. Andrew, or ANedelka335i has bastuck quads with RR downpipes and holy crap it sounds insane above 4k. Basically from reading what you're looking for in an exhaust, his setup is what you want. Sounds relatively tame under 4k, but as soon as you go above that, it seriously sounds like a ferrari. I work right next door to a ferrari/maser dealer and I hear 430s driving around every day. The bastuck gets damn close to that 430 sound, at least to my ears. The AE has a real loud and deep note down low, and gets kind of loud up top, but the biggest sound difference is on the lower end of the rpm range. I would highly recommend the bastuck quads. That's what I would get and I was looking for the same thing as you in an exhaust. Too bad I'm done with this car or I'd get it because it sounds amazing.

nice review...
looking to purchase one myself but still on the fence
Really leaning towards a Bastuck after many reads and research....
but it is still down to AE vs Bastuck...
