18X8 225/40/18 18x9 255/35/18 Will fit in 325i 2006 Premium Package

New to this forum and need help. Just brought 2006 BMW 325i with Premium Package. I want to buy a set of wheels n tires from a friend. He has 2005 330ci. The size of the tires is: 18X8 225/40/18 18x9 255/35/18. Will these fit in my car? any suggestion or recommended to made the car look nice. I love the look some of your car: the rim closer to the frame. thank you

Are you sure the fronts are 225/45/18? That's about an inch too tall, and wouldn't correspond with the rears at 255/35/18. So provided it was a typo and the fronts are 225/40/18, then off-hand the sizing looks fine. However without knowing the offsets on the rims it's impossible to say for sure.

Thank you for your respond? how i can find out the offset number? I just double check the number and you are right. The correct number is: F 18x8 225/40/18 R 18x9 255/35/18

Are they original BMW rims? If so it should be possible to figure out the dimensions based on the style. In any case, oem or aftermarket, there are stamps behind the spokes with all this info, it would normally say "ET##", for example ET35 or something like that.

Edit: If they're oem, take a look here and see if you can narrow it down: http://www.bmwwheels.com/bmwwheels.asp In general though E46 wheels will fit, but may need spacers.

If they are off a 2005 then they came from an E46. If they are OEM wheels then they will look tucked in as the E46 ran a 47mm offset in an 8" wide wheel. Your pre lci E90 can run a much more aggressive offset than that. You could possibly make the rims work with spacers.

Yes it is OEM. Thank you for your link. From there I found the style is : M Double Spoke 135. Then I google and found: Front ET47 n Rear: ET49. You mention about space. how thick do i need? Thank you.

Alright then the next question...are the rears 8.5" as indicated by the link, or 9" as you mentioned?

From what I've found, the M Double Spoke 135 in 18x8 are ET47 while the 18x8.5 are ET51. If truly the case you'd need some pretty hefty spacers... thus also adding to the cost.

Yes. it is 8.5. How hefty spacers and how much it cost? what do you recommend? should i buy the wheels? if we don't have spacers what happen to the car? I used the wheel calculator and had the result:
F: 26mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will extend to THE SAME point as the stock wheel
R: 36mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 2mm.
What they mean? Again thank you.

Just buy wheels that are made to fit your car. Otherwise you'll need about a 12mm spacer on the front and a 20mm spacer on the rear to get the wheels almost flush with the fenders.

+1, 12-15mm at the front, and 20mm minimum at the rear to look decent, ideally 30mm though I wouldn't be too pleased to run such a thick spacer. 30mm would make it sit identical to a 9.5" wide rim with ET34 which is close to perfect.

About $100-120 per pair for quality spacers. I'd have to agree with Tee-Dub that you're best off buying something with a better fitment for the car. You could get away with these wheels and smaller spacers and have the sunken-in look, but if you're going to do something might as well do it right.
