just got rear-ended...
so yeah lol... i dont even know how that happened...
basically we are going bumper to bumper traffic and i guess some stupid idiot decides to speed up really quick... from the impact he was going like 30mph+, 4 cars involved and luckily i was the first car in the group so the two cars in the middle took all the impact and my bumper is not too bad... just has the inprint of the guy behind's license plate haha (you can actually see all the letters and numbers too) anyways, imma go through his insurance and im wondering, in these situtation, do i have to pay a deductible? im thinking if i can, i would want to try to get a m-tech bumper or what not. thanks for reading!

chances are the deduct is more than it would cost to get your bumper repainted. not worth having your premium raised over a little love tap. just my .02

Nope, you don't pay a deductable. If anything, just talk to the body shop and cover the difference in price between an m tech and a regular bumper.

damn bro! that sucks to have that happen...M-tech bumper!!
If his insurance is paying you pay no deductible. I have a good bodyshop here that will take care of the paperwork for you and outfit you with an m-tech bumper to your liking |

Go through the insurance company of the person who hit you and you won't have to pay deductible. The catch is that YOU (not your insurance company) will have to handle the accident case and work with the other party's insurance adjusters and claims reps.

+1 on what everyone else said. Same thing happened to me back in January, and that's how I ended up with the bumper I have now . Although I did have to pay the difference between the M-tech bumper and the stock bumper since his insurance company wouldn't cover it, it was about $130 or so, but not bad for a new M-tech bumper.

+1. Since you are claiming from his insurance not your own insurance, your premium will NOT go up. My wife got rear ended 3 times in 2 years. After fixing the car three times we ended up +6K from the money we collected from other's insurances. And our premium did NOT go up a penny.

thats why I said its not even worth the hassle. I would have filed a police report, gotten the other drivers personal info, gotten an estimate asap and if the other driver agrees, you could settle without having to go through insurance becuase as some of us know, it can be a real hassle sometimes depending on which company you have to deal with. good luck
