Devon Hill, Ottos or BMW Main Line to have service/repair?
Looking to have alignment done at bimmerworks but the driver side angel eye burnt out today,so i guess i will save myself some hassle and have the dealership do them all.
I am new to the area and so far have heard nice and ugly things about these three dealers: Devon Hill, Ottos or BMW Main Line. I live 5 mins from Mainline BMW but willing to drive for decent service experience (professional work, loaners, etc) and would like to gain your suggestions. BTW, i brought my 07 e92 with me from Pittsburgh and wonder any of these dealers would offer loaners? Any commends/suggestions are appreciated, thx in advance!! |

I bought my car from Devon Hill. They're service is good its their sales dept that wont budge on anything.
They gave me a e90 335xi as a loaner for a day. I just let my GF beat on it

devon hill give you BMW loaners and service is actually pretty good..
Devon Hill need to replace their entire sales department as they are horrible SOBs. Service attitude is great. However, I do hear about Devon Hill hiring younger kids who might beat on your car... Mainline service attitude.. not so great... sales rep.. excellent.. I bought my car at Mainline... and my car has been serviced at mainline.... (dont ask me why.. ) Never been to Otto. Oh, heard good things from DeSimone BMW as well in Jersey.. should be only 30-40 min away from you at most if you live only 5 min away from mainline.

Went to Devon Hill, and sales sucked. Did not take me seriously at all when I was there, even with my wife with me. We went to Otto's and love them. Had great experiences at their West Chester location and in Downingtown (which is where I always go now.) Never had a problem, and always got nice BMW loaners.

I've used all three over the past 10 years and found they all have treated me well, just a few comments. Devon Hill has great service and are understanding, but I seemed to always spend a lot there. This may have been because I had an older BMW at the time. Main Line also has great service but you don't get BMW loaners. I like Ottos best, nothing "bad" to say about them (which is good since it is now the one I am closest too). I bought my current car at Devon Hill and Ottos still treats me great and gives loaners. Whatever you do, stay away from Union Park in Wilmington DE. I wouldn't go there if they did it for free.

I have done service at Otto's an they were great. they even gave me an x5 as a loaner once... all I had to do was ask.
As for Mainline, I took delivery of my car there after originally picking it up in Germany, and I was shocked... they just tossed me the keys and said good day. They did clean it up, but didn't even ask for my license to verify I was who I said I was. I will never go there for anything. |

My last service was at Mainline BMW. The service was good, if a little slow (2 hours for an oil change and a state inspection?...) and the staff is friendly, but not necessarily the most helpful. I bought my car from Flemmington BMW, about an hour or so away in NJ from Philly, and their sales staff was really nice, really friendly and more willing to cut me a deal on my car than any of the other dealers I went to.

After all, I decided to go to Otto's BMW at Exton today as they have the most updated online reservation system and allow you to choose to have "loaners".
Went there this morning at 8:30. Greeted, asked about every details, and inspected the exterior of my car. They were about to give me a loaner but found out my DL expired on 8/30 lol, the SA (forgot the name) were nice enough to put me on top of their service lists and promised to get the job done in about an hour. (replace a bulb for "angel eye" and replace a bent wheel). Enjoyed a cup of coffee and morning news in the waiting room, and my car was ready by the time of 10:30, fixed and washed. I appreciate the professional attitude of the SA and technician that they came to me and confirmed that they were replacing the right wheel as the bent was very very minor. If I have to provide any cons, I would say they are on the pricey side and the bill was a little bit than estimated (i got an estimate of $54 to replace the bent wheel which I provided the replacement, and the final bill came out to be $73). I guess I got what I paid for and I would definitely going back in the future. |

I went to Otto's at Exton as well. Very good service all the time. Never any issues and always a BMW loaner.
Talk to Jay in sales when you're there. He is a true BMW enthusiast. While I was at Otto's for service (I didn't buy my car from Otto's - my wife's we did) we went out in a new 135i with the sport package to have some fun. Another time when I was there Jay kept asking me about driving the M3 with the DCT. I hadn't at that point and he wanted me to go out with him. A customer came in and I said I'll talk to you later. 5 minutes later he comes back and tells me the carbon black M3 with the plate on the back and running is waiting for me. I had a ball taking the car out - by myself! I highly recommend Jay for any sales. Both mine and my wife's cars are out of warranty now, so we'll be using Bimmerworks from now on.
