2010 E90 335i LCI Msport vs 2006 E60 M5
Well i have come down to this point:
Get a new fully loaded 2010 E90 335i LCI M-sport AUTO.. Comes out to $55k With Scoops, DCI, DP back catless exhaust, JB3 1.4 and maybe Meth kit down the road along with a BMW performance wheel and CF splitters/ CF spoiler. OR CPO 2006 E60 M5 SMG that is pretty much fully loaded. Comes out to $60k Has warranty until late 2011 than i am on my own. No maintenace and all wear/tear on me. On wait for this car in mods would be 08 taillgihts Scoops and drop in filter Dinan flash Some things to consider, i dont do over 120mph alot, almost not at all.. I daily drive my cars Last edited by Bagelfast; 10-18-2009 at 10:25 PM.. |

And make sure you get a points card from your local gas station, you'll really use it. My friend's got one and it's disgusting on gas consumption.

I own both cars, you didn't mention if the 335 is auto. I like my Auto and would choose the 335 over the M5 especially since you mentioned you do not go over 120mph which is when the M5 start gaining a big advantage in terms of performance.
In terms of comfort if you are not one to use the paddle shifts the whole time on the M5 the shifts are going to annoy you vs a auto tranny on the 335.

335 mpg ownz. And it will be a brand new car rather than one thats 3yrs old. I went through the same debate earlier this year.

In 2-3 years, the M5 will still be worth $50k. Your new 335 will be worth $30k.
Gas doesn't cost that much.

M5 all the way....also add an exhaust and make sure its a manual tranny
I dont care if a 335 is a little bit faster fully modded out if you can have that sick v10 exhaust sound.

Nothing beats 4 years warranty/maintenance from bmw.. Quote:
I agree i dont worry about gas much. Quote:
4 years warranty/maintenance is a thing of beauty when you think of it. 2 years warranty on the M5 and if anything breaks, i am gonna be crying! I really am not looking for some insane speed anymore, M5 and a well equipped 335i will hang with it until higher speeds, but like i mentioned i rearely go over 120mph, and i use my cars as daily drivers. |

That M5 will probably be more reliable.
And since it's older, you probably won't pay all that much out of pocket to keep it running. -scheherazade |

M5 for sure. However if you're buying for gas mileage, then you're not gonna be happy with the M5 unless you have a really tame "go foot" and even then you might still be disappointed. Just keep power mode off and it won't be as bad.
