Alpine... do you have any warranty issues with the exhaust system (did you get full exhaust?)

Also... what did you do with your OEM?

Don't really care

An acquaintance who's a bit of a petrol head ( currently has new GTR, Porsche 911 Turbo, C63 ) says you can squeeze a bit more HP out if you increase the diameter of the pipes from the cat back to the muffler. Any thoughts?

AMK - are you thinking of getting an upgraded exhaust?

Hi Zender - I've been giving it some thought. Though I love the sound of the stock exhaust I want a bit more noise when I hit 5000rpm!

Hey AMK... yes... my thoughts are the same... I'm asking whether or not it will be an issue.... a full exhaust requires an ECU tune to remove the 02 warning light...

Anyway.... lets see... I have asked the dealer to let me know... I don't want any warranty issues...

In most cases any modifications will void your warranty.

However if you are "friendly" with your service adviser, the outcome is reversed.

I'm looking at some axle-back exhaust for mine. Eisenmann race may seem a little too loud for Perth's highway patrol.

I'm currently leaning towards AA based on youtube comparison but than again, it is very hard to tell which is louder without hearing it in person.

And electronic exhaust valve such as the one from Varex mufflers would be good. A remote control (Wireless) is provided to switch between loud (full open) and stock (closed).

Cheers Pilot... I'm still waiting to hear from my dealer... but I'm heading towards the... maybe later, rather than an immediate.... it wholly depends on the changeover price of the stock vs performance exhaust as well as the warranty matters (which doesn't look promising).

Oh well... I Still CAN'T WAIT FOR MY CAR!!!!

on the point of HP increase, hitech "say"that they have dynoed the rear system like mine before and after and seen something like a 25HP increase. Whatever, so long as it sounds better.

It does sound faster but

Get one you will love it, the best $3k you will ever spend on an ///M3 IMO

Group buy?

I know that feeling. Make sure you take some photos during delivery and post them here.

There is this youtube video with excellent exhaust comparison. I think it has been posted before on this forum but I'll try and dig up the link just in case you guys missed it.

Edit: Link added.
