San Diego BMW service sucks

I went in there today because someone stole one of my sets of keys the night before. I talked to a friend who works for BMW Palm Springs and he told me they can disable my key that was stolen. He said it would only take a couple min to do and I should go over to the dealer and ask them to due it. So after being told to see 3 different people the service guy sends me to a phone so I can schedual an appointment. A freaking appointment! Get this, they say that the earliest they can do it is Oct 11th. I am so f*** PISSED!!! I am just supposed to wait and hope my car is still there in the morning. Thanks dicks. San Diego BMW SUCKS!!!

Living here in japan I know lots of Military people..great bunch for the most part, well they have BMW Military Sales here....Sandiego BMW is one of the few dealer in the U.S.....who do not let BMW's purchased thru military sales to be delivered to their dealership....which sucks because they get $300 bucks for each car delivered all they have to do is prep the damn thing.....so screw them...I hope all the military people in Diego read this...especially the Marines out side Diego.....I wonder how Many Marines and Sailors bought cars from them........Gawd I love the internet

I have to agree they suck. They make it seem like they don't want or need your business.

Sales people were kewel with me in the beginning....then they turned at time of delivery! Bastards!

Service...I have only been there once, and they were great....but then again, it was for simple oil change.

Candace from Internet sales was a sweatheart. Always kept me informed and was always on top of things.

Wow if BMW of San Diego was bad you should try going to Cuningham BMW in El Cajon. I orignially purchased my vehicle @ Cuningham and was satisfied with the sales staff. But the service dept. was a nightmare! My e90 stayed at cuningham for over 48hrs to have an angel eye bulb replaced...and guess what they were unable to do it. To add insult to injury when I arrived to pick up my vehicle they were unable to locate it! It took them over 20min to figure out were the hell it was parked. Needless to say I spoke my mind to the manager.

If I remember correctly it is right off the 163 going N a little after Mission Valley. It's on the left side of the freeway. There are a bunch of dealerships there, Lexus, Toyota, Chevy etc. I could be wrong but that's what I remember. =)

I must be the only one that had a good experience there then. Maybe because I did ED and skipped the regular sales guys.

I haven't had to deal with the service guys formally yet, but I did get a stone chip fixed under warranty (it was incurred during transport) and they took care of it pretty easily.

Anywhere else locally any good?

RAG - they're here http://www.bmwofsandiego.com/

The answer is "BMW of San Diego". Brecht BMW is about 17 miles from Scripps Ranch, which is the next closest.

I bought my car through military sales. I had it delivered to Brecht BMW. I have nothing but good things to say about them. The ED sales guy was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be taking my car there for service.

I also purchased mine from Brecht BMW. I did shop around with Cunningham and BMW of San Diego. They weren't as willing to work with my trade in or deal as well as Brecht did. I ended up getting ACTUAL blue book for my trade in and $500 over dealer invoice for my car ($47K not counting tax and title). Service installing my OEM alarm was somewhat adequate. They left some mechanic prints here and there inside my car ( I am extremely anal about a clean car). Other than that no complaints from Brecht.

+1000000 BMW of San Diego does suck!!! They wouldn't work with me on the sales price. In fact, they told me if I get my car $500 over invoice with no markups on the money factor to bring the car and contract and they will fill up my tank. I got exactly what I wanted at BMW Encinitas.

I will be taking delivery soon, vessel is headed to Long Beach right now. Once I get my car, I'm going to make sure it's close to empty and I'm going to get my free $55 dollars worth of gas.
