2003 Z4 2.5i better brakes

I have 2003 Z4 2.5i, my OEM brakes are worn out.i heard Akebono brakes are better. i am not sure i should buy OEM BMW brakes or Akebono, and do i need to change brake sensors too and how many should i buy. i do not have any issues with current sensors but changing brake sensors is part of changing brake pads?

Please help

There are two brake pad wear sensors; one on the left (driver) front and one on the right (passenger) rear. If your instrument cluster brake warning light isn't lite up then your sensors are OK and don't need to be replaced.
