I think some of us, like me, purposely get the non-sport package because we will put aftermarket mods anyway... you know, aftermarket suspension, wheels, exhaust, limiter...etc.

mods in terms of changing the bulb is real simple. Read the owner's manual carefully and 'just do it' Even my wife knows how, after watching me.

It's clear that lowering the car brings it closer to a certain look. I hesitate to say it looks unarguably better; at least it looks more like an expected, even fetishized configuration.

We also find consensus that lowering the car by changing the springs will improve the handling. But I came upon a post from tierfreund on bimmerfest that argues the other way, that important driving characteristics beyond the skidpad may be compromised.

Can anyone here comment further? The bimmerfest thread didn't pick up on tierfreund's ideas, which seem contrarian around here. As I don't drive much on the skidpad or the Autobahn, I don't have the expertise to weigh in. I'd be interested to hear others' views on the subject.

Wait until you sit in my customized leather Recaro seats and you'll think you waisted your money on the sports package seats.
