Well, I finally broke down and get some snows.
I took the car out last weekend and it was down right dangerous. Temp was @ 15 degF. I knew about what to expect, but wow, the stock RFT's were all over the place. No snow, just cold.
So I bought a set of cheap 18" rims from tirerack.com, and some Dunlop SP Wintersport in 225-40-18 all around. Rims are the Sport Tuning Jet model. Couldn't beat the price at $69 a piece. Just over $1k shipped to the door. Damn tires were almost 3 times the price of the rims! I get them the end of next week. All the rims I wanted (cheap ones) were out of stock or shipping from another location. Just wanted something cheap to easily swap and beat up. These won't win any beauty contests, but they will be functional. Oh, they are really light weight... at 29 pounds a piece ouch.

Yeah I just ordered Snows for my 335 XI. Its scary how easily they slip around. I wanted to stick with runflats so i ordered blizakaz LM 60- RFT and I'll mount them on the stock rims and in march/april Ill put the Michilens on some new rims that look nicer. ITs such a confidence booster to know you have good tires. Now I just have to worry about all the other people who should have snows and dont.

Yeah, you need 'em, I didn't 1st winter but I didn't drive my car. I had to wait for there to be no chance of snow to bring the car to the dealership--not sure what would have happened if it snowed in the meantime.
Mine were under $1k before shipping (barely over $900), $79 rims. Why are your tires so expensive? Did you get those LM60 RFT's or tpms? I skipped the tpms. |

I got the Dunlops. Next to lowest price at $159. The Blizzak WS60's were $153, but not in stock. The Blizzak LM60 RFT's were $209. My total was $912 + $108 shipping = $1020 Not sure what size you are running. Mine are 18".

My '07 335i was early production and does not have TPMS either. Yippie!

finally got some this year too, world of difference. previous years I didn't drive that car if it snowed at all, but I'm going to from now on - HUGE difference. I did the WS60 blizzaks, very nice. I skipped the tps's, no big deal. I have an early 07 as well, I think all e92's have the sensors from what I understand. I heard rumor early e90 335's used abs sensors instead though

Rubber valve stems, and no sensors in my wheels. Not sure what production date they changed to TPMS sensors in the wheels, that monitor actual pressure.
