Just for Carl....what would you buy...?
4 door, 4/5 seater (needs 5 seat belts even if middle of back seat not brilliant!) Sub 8 second to 60 (just as a measure of performance) 30+mpg average Emissions no more than 20% (to keep company car tax low) Still be mobile in 1" of snow would be an advantage..... If diesel, auto preferred.

Subaru Legacy diesel - just over 8s to 60 but otherwise, top marks.
Carlos - 3 series + snow = fail |

Oh Right fair enough. Any hatchback? I like the new Golf!? Do you?
What about ''Sacking off'' the company car thing altogether and going your own way with it!?

Yeah, I know its not fashionable to run a company car these days, but it works for me/us....I'm aiming for something that will cost me, personally, c.£200/month in tax.....

Touring it is then? Dog in boot. Daughter on her bf's lap then there's enough room for a spare person!

Chris - they are tight in the back.
However we have seated three adults and our baby (in a rear facing baby seat for a 15 month old - they take up TONNES of space!), the dog (black lab so quite big) and two adults holiday luggage without a problem. I think of them as a very large hatchback rather than a 100% estate car. Our previous Astra (H) estate had a much bigger boot but then it only had pretend rear suspension and was made of papier mache and loo roll. |

My LCR had climate control that works - BMW CC does not (I've had four)... Snow? Piece of piss... Handling? Well, subjective, but the LCR is still the car I have managed to go round the S bends coming into Leeds from J4 of the M621 in fastest... Matt |
