regret getting 19in rims

The stock 18in rims were a little faster than my current 19in rims. Second gear does not chirp anymore. Sooo sad.

hey... did you. um. by chance... get wider tires? or maybe a stickier brand of tire? yeah. Those will both stop you from chirping second, which would actually mean your car was FASTER, because you're not losing traction, you're USING traction.

YES, you should have gotten your 18's back, or they better have made you a HELL of a deal on your 19's for keeping your 18's.

You should track/dyno your car with someone ELSES stock 18's, then again with your new 19's. as long as they are resonably light, and you went from RFT to NON-RFT, I bet your car got faster.

Is there a particular reason for not getting a set of forged rims? You get the best of both worlds.

If I can chirp 2nd gear in a 325i with 17" rims I do not think it would be a problem on a 335i with 19".

If chirp'n was your goal you should've gone with 16's.

Tires are not wider. they are the bridgestone potenza y-rated tires run flat tires. I paid 4k extra for the wheels and didn't get back the 18s.

I will probably get it dyno when I get shiv's xede.

You must have steptronic? I can still chirp in 2nd with 19" tires. Maybe your compound is much softer.

Holy crap you could've bought some seriously light forged wheels for that much money instead of the boat anchor cast oem wheels!

I think you need to go have a chat with your dealer cause me thinks you got a bum deal. You easily could have gotten a set of Volks, DPE or BBS with tires for that kind of money and kept your 18's.

I think the 179 composites rock. If you swapped for rims and tires for 4k that was not too unreasonable. You could have done it a little cheaper by going to BMW wheels and tirerack, but the bottom line is that 19" rims and tires are expensive.

So you "upgrade" to 19s with 19s RFT? If that's the case, what do you expect? Heavy rims+ heavier RFT =Sloweeerr...

When did you buy those? If it was recently, talk to the dealer ASAP and get your 18s back.
