E90 M5 replicas 18"x8.5" for winter

I'm looking for a winter set for E90 335i.
A local wheel/tire shop has M5 style 166 replicas.
The size is 18" x 8.5" wide. Offset 35mm.

Tires will be 235/40/R18 Dunlop 3D winter tires.

I'm concerned that 8.5" all around would be too wide for the winter.
Should I be worried? Will steering be compromised with wider fronts?
Please advise.

Why 235/40 and not 225/40?

Both will fit the 8.5x18 M5 rep.

I figured that since I had 225mm tires on 8" (and 7.5" in the past) rims, 235/40R18 will work better on 8.5".
Also the stock summer is 255/35R18 on 8.5" in the back.

The 225/40 will look a bit stretch on the 8.5", but it's not a problem.

And I don't know why BMW fits 255/35 tires on 8.5", I don't think that look good at all, I would fit 255/35 on 9" rims.

The best would be 8" rims and 225/40. In the winter, wide tires is not the best.

Yeah that what I wanted to do, but the shop receive a shipment of these M5 replicas and all of them are 8.5" wide, so I either have to wait for something else or order something else or go with 8.5". We can get snow any day here now.
