Anyone placed a (UK) order yet?

I'm currently in negotiations, just wondered whether anyone else has committed, and/or what discount achieved?

Not quite. I'll be getting a 'lowly' 520D and my fleet company wont let me order that till March for June delivery. (Leaseplan). They argue, correctly I believe that its only the bigger engine models you can order at present.
In the meantime I'm hopping between A4s on very short leases.

Cheers. Yep, I'm beeing told various dates....mine will also be a lowly (but well specced!) company car tax efficient 520d!!

June is supposed to be the "release date" for the 520d, but still not sure of actual possible delivery dates...

I'd be interested to know who you are using for the "very short leases"...?? Is that also with Leaseplan ?

My current finance agreement finishes beginning of June and there will be equity in the car that I want to put to the deposit on new one....which makes things a little more complex!!

For short leases I have the option to take 'early returns' e.g. if someone has left the Leaseplan scheme through leaving our company then they offer the remaining term of the lease cheaply. Thus I look for cars that are a month or two to go and then swap again for another in the same boat until the 520 is available for order.

Yep, placed an order yesterday (in South Africa).

550i, sophisto grey (option)
adaptive lights and adaptive drive (option).

The car comes standard here with:
- Head up Display
- Comfort seats
- Sports steering
- 8 speed sports automatic transmissiom
- front and back PDC
- Xenons with washers ..( got to pay for adaptives)
- Rear view camera with surround view
- Professional Navigation
- Cell phone Bluetooth
- Hifi sound system.
- 237 mag with 245/45 18'
- Rear electric blind and side mechanical
- 5 year 100k motorplan.

Looking forwrd to and hoping for delivery in May 2010.

Hi guys,

Just ordered a 535i in silver with venetian beige interior, and 19inch 332 wheels
a bit uncertain about the colours at this stage, but I hope they look oK.

Nice! I'm pretty much sold on Sophisto having originally favoured Space....not sure about "venerian"....sounds a bit dodgy...

I'm thinking the 331's will be a lot easier to keep clean, but if you like the 332's have you checked the dynamic pack doesn't give you a better deal?? All depends if you want other items of course.

Oh and a pm on the kind of deal you managed would be handy! Thanks!

, sorry about my sphelling it is terribel...

and yes I meant 331 not 332, again for the same reason that it has an easier maintenance.

Regarding the dynamic pack, there was a lot of items that I really did not want, and although the package would have been cheaper if those would have been included, it was like one of those dodgy supermarket deals where you end up buying more than you wanted

just because the package was cheaper.

Have placed order for the 520D in Havanna with beige interior. I loved the Z4 in Havanna, so i'm hoping the 5er is going to look the same. My dealer said it will only be available by possibly mid june but may miss the initial batch if I wait too long.

My delivery date has been put back by 4 weeks, so will not get a delivery until end of May,

In the meantime it made me ponder on the options I have, I had the 331 19 inch wheels and changed the wheels to the 18inches , as 19inch wheels I have been told will wear out much faster and will be more expensive in the long run.

I also went for a black leather interior , as I have kids and feared that the lighter colours although look better now, will turn black eventually

my question is why on the 19inch and on some of the 18 inch version the back wheels are wider than the front, is this for better road handling?

(on the 18inch there are a version where front and back wheels are the same size, and a version where back wheels and front wheels are not similar.)

I'm with you on the color of the leather interior. I was initially planning for a beige leather interior, but now am thinking of getting the cinnamon brown version with the anthracite headliner.
I'm myself getting the 18 inch wheels. Didn't realize there was an option where the back and front wheels are of different sizes.
