Tire suggestions
I have an 07 335i coupe with sport package and need to replace the rubber.
I was loooking at: 1. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 2. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 This is my everyday driver so I'd like nice ride as well as longevity. Any comments, or other suggestions? I'd also like to keep cost in consideration The dunlops are about $100/tire cheaper then the PS2's. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Well if you have the funds, the PS2's are considered to be the "benchmark" from what I've gathered (I'm also in the market for new tires), but I personally have no experience with them.
I don't think you will be disappointed with them though. |

Really depends what you are looking for. The star specs are geared more towards a street & track tire, while the PS2's are just really good street tires. You give up good street tire manners (i.e. quiet, smooth/soft ride, etc) for performance with the star specs.
Since performance does not seem to be your main concern, and you say you want a nice ride with longevity, i think the choice is pretty obvious. Go with the PS2's. They are quieter, rides much nicer, and lasts a hell of a lot longer then the star specs. You'll be lucky to get 12k miles on the Dunlops. |

If it's just a daily driver the continental ExtremeContact DWS. Check out my review here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=dws
I love them. The vredestein ultrac sessantas are also a popular option. Stay away from Falken, IMO.

The Kooks are less $ and will perform better (refer to Car and Driver tire test of last summer), but the Bridgestones should last longer, and is, I believe, a more solid, quality tire. Important since I don't have a spare, only a mobility kit, and any major tire failure would leave me stranded... I think I'm convincing myself to buy the Bridgestones... That was a good article and after reading it I'm strongly leaning towards those Hankooks, anyone have any experience with them on here?

A lot of 335i owners are running the v12 evo Hankooks, in good part because of this test, the results of which have been proven in practice. Just do a search in the tire sub-forum for v12, and you should find postings. Here's a couple:
