Has anyone's iphone/at&t phone locked up TSU?
Recently I noticed that the phone wasn't pairing up with the bluetooth. The phone would ring (iphone 3G v3.1.2) but not the bluetooth in the car. I just thought I would need to repair it and to my surprise, the whole phone menu just disappeared from the main menu. So I made a trip to the dealer.
They said "any AT&T phone, especially the iphone, is not 100% compatible with TSU made before 3/09" and they just reset the system by resetting the battery. I told them about the time/date/speed limit beep all being reset time to time and they said it's because of the phone incompatibility issue. I don't know but this all sounds like BS? And they just did the battery reset to clear out everything. Don't they have more sophisticated method, like hooking up to a computer to clear everything out?

That is complete BS. I have never had any issue with either of my iPhones (1st gen and 3Gs). The only time I had trouble pairing was cause my bluetooth headset was still paired, or on and inside of my car so it just paired to the wrong thing.
There is a pdf around somewhere that showed the phones that worked and I was thinking iPhone was on there... I'll look for it in a bit.

I'm currently having the same problem, except this is the 2nd time I'm having this issue.. I had a verizon phone that was compatible with my 06 Z4 on the old compatibility list, however it locked up on me. The dealer said it's not compatible with the car. So fine, I needed a new phone anyway so I bought the iPhone 16ghz which was compatible with the car on the current compatibility list, however 2 days ago the system Locked up again on me. I am going to go to the dealer, and raise hell. If you go to bmwusa.com there IS a phone compatibility list... Check it out and if your phone is compatible shove it up your dealers ass and tell him if the system is broken, you ain't paying for it! Because it isn't under warranty! Good luck dude

Sally, you must remember that for compatiability you need to check the list for YOUR vehicle (2006 Z4). The bluetooth modules and code have been updated every year to my knowledge. Unless you have a new TSU it may not be on the compatiability list for your vehicle.
Regardless, I believe it should work. I have never had any issues with either of my iPhones, my Samsung Blade (long time age) or my work BB. The only one of the phones on my compatiability list is the BlackBerry. The Bluetooth should work, just some functions like your addressbook on the display in the car may not for incompatiable phones.

iPhone 3GS and it runs fine. I recall having a hiccup once that kind of locked up either the phone or the nav system, can't remember. But I was able to reset it myself by button mashing or rebooting the Z4M.

I have never had my system lock up. I have ran with the iPhone since it was originally released as well (first gen) all the way to my current 3gs running OS 4.0.1.

old thread i know
but just yesterday, the telephone menu vanished off the screen. And nothing happens now when i press the mic button on the steering wheel.
Previously, my iphone 4 worked flawlessly for over 4 months now...anyone know what the deal is? |
