I like becuase it matches the color of the car and looks 10x better than the bms single cone. Cost me about $80 all together. Not bad.

That thread turned me off about these filters with all the talk about cheap filters failing.

I call this the HAI. Hot air intake. Anything proven to make my car slower than stock airbox isn't a mod worth doing IMO.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'm just curious as to why so many people are so concerned with the looks of the DCI's. Do you guys have your hoods up often for it to matter? No disrespect whatsoever -- I really like the looks of the dual's as well -- just not enough to endure the pain in the ass of getting them to fit easily.

I'm thinking of getting the BMS single cone --- mainly for "reported" ease of install. Perhaps there is not much difference in the ease of installation betwenn the single and duals??

OP - looks good. I think they're good for the sound even if they are an HAI. I personally have the Vishnu HAI

Nick
HAI or not i really dont care maybe it loses power maybe it doesnt but i do know it looks alot better under the hood than any other intake for $80.

New intake looks great! Looks like the old one was a bit past due for cleaning.

Its been proven many times on this board that a dci makes much more power than a stock air box

+1

And to answer a question from above, the install complexity between a DCI and the BMS single intake is pretty much the same. 99% of people buy the DCI.

I love my DCI intake - I was giving kilpse a hard time - everyone knows that arguing the cold v. warm on the N54 is a waste of time. The air sucked in goes into blazing hot turbos - the air temp going in really doesn't matter - it's all about the intercooler. Get a good one and you'll see IAT around ambiant which is as good as you can hope for without using other means...

Nick
That is completely untrue. I have tested and quantified the difference between the STETT CAI and DCI. I never dyno for a power difference, so I cannot speak to the difference there, but the STETT CAI definitely resulted in colder IATs. This is indeed a fact.
