Has anybody seen an F10 550 Review?

They're supposed to be coming to the U.S. at the same time, but I haven't seen a single review of the new 550i, only the 535i. We've seen pictures and all, but I haven't seen a word of driving impressions.

Unlike the old E60 550, the new F10 V8 is going to have 100 more horsepower than the 535, you'd think the car magazines would be screaming to get their hands on one.

$5.00/gallon...

really? do you work in the oil industry or can tell the future? seriously. If you can't afford to pay 2x what you are now...then you shouldn't be buying this car in the first place. Get a BMW M bike instead. :-)

Funny reply.

Ability to afford $5.00 a gallon and willingnes or desire to do it are different things.
There are alternatives, I am downgrading from 550i to 535i, and if BMW marketed the 535D in the US, that would be my choice.

Living in Seattle and driving a convertible must be frustrating, between snow and rain you can only lower your top inside your garage, right? So you come to this forum to release some frustration by providing hostile replies and foolish advice?

I'm with Beemerup. Everybody knows that gas could potentially get more expensive; that's hardly news and its unlikely to make a difference to BMW enthusiasts seeking the top tier of performance in the F10 package until the M5 debuts next year. You may not have noticed, but the new F10 535i is actually slower than the E60 535i while the F10 550i is packing 40 more horsepower than the E60 550. The F10 550i is going to scream and I can guarantee there are going to be days when I don't crack 10 mpg in my new 550 because my right foot is going to be buried in the floorboard.

By my count, BMW is selling six different models of V8 powered cars at the moment, so there's clearly a lot of people like me who don't really give a rip how expensive gas gets. When the difference is 100 horsepower, like in the F10, I'm going for the V8.

Now could we please get back on topic?

I agree completely. Gas mileage is 52 percent better on the highway with 535 than the 550. I also am downgrading to the 535 from a 550. I want to do my bit for global warming. If BMW offered the 535 diesel I would buy that in heartbeat.

I apparently do not have the mileage information correct in my post above. I am going to update those numbers when something official comes out, possibly the end of March. In the meantime I changed my mind and ordered a 550 for Euro Delivery in July. There is still time for me to change my mind again and revert to the 535.
