H&R springs installed pics

So rake to much? Should I get the 15mm spacer? I know one thing. Red loctite is a moth&^f&c*er, All in all took about 2 hours. Had a tire shop drop the springs into the struts after I removed them from the car.

looks like reverse rake lol

it's interesting, on all the cars ive ever seen h&r's on, they all had more rake on the front. never seen it in the rear and ive seen them on maybe 10 different cars (including a few bmws)

they may just need to settle to get to the correct height

hmmmm... that seems like ALOT more rake then when they were on my car. I just have a couple trouble shooting questions for you.... Could you have maybe put the rear springs on the front? Also did you take both rubber pieces off the stock rear spring and put them on the H&R spring?

Reverse rake is normal if you used the OE 5mm rear spring pad.
On my previous M roady I used the 15mm pad to even things up.

It might be the angle of your drive way but it just seems like the rear is too low in the first pic you posted. For reference here is a pic of my car with the springs on. I attached two pics.. the first is when I first put the springs on so they are not that settled and the second is when they had been on the car for a long while..

Two hours? It took me twice that to do my first corner
Of course it didn't help that I forgot a part and had to take it back apart twice!
In your first set of pics the car looked higher than any H&R pics I've seen. The second set looks much more normal. Guess they settled quickly. Still the rear does look a little too low. Does it look that way in real life or just exagerrated in the pics? I think the thicker rear spring pads would make it perfect.
Oh yeah, and it's nice to see a modded Sepang. Looks great!

Thanks for the color compliment. The only issue I had was the red loctite put on by the factory. I'm going to wait a bit a see if she settles more before I get the 15mm pads.

How soon before I get it aligned? Being used springs I'd think I shouldn't have to wait to long. Two wheel or four wheel alignment?

No need to wait, with used springs, you're good to go.
& 2 wheel alignment is complete waste of time & money

You mean 4 alignment wheel is a waste? I think that's what you meant. I appreciate the help I've gotten here. No doubt without it I would have been lost. Nice to have this resource and camaraderie.

Cool. Got an appointment for tomorrow. Went with a local tire shop that has a real good alignment guy. Only thing is that no one around here does the "weighted alignment". Not even my BMW dealer. Anything I need to request as far as specs go, just in case they have never messed with an M?

Any updates and now that you have the 18x10R Apex Wheels, any clearance issues? I just purchased H&R Springs this morning. Any info/update on your findings would be appreciated!

Thanks for the info! Did you go with the 15mm pads in the rear or leave it with the 5mm?

Left it with the stock pad.I like it. Full tank of fuel. If you don't like the stance you only have to undo the rear wheels and remove one bolt per side to put in the 15mm.
