335d tuning in america

I know there are tons of companies doing this in Europe but how about here in North America... i assume we can't just use a tune specified for europe because our cars have less HP and have that adblue fluid etc...

Thnks guys

335 Diesels make up less than 5% of 3-series sales in the US. They sell more than 25% in Europe so is a more viable solution for tuners to come up with a tune there. I know Terry from BMS is working on a PNP solution to make an addition 40+ HP.

I haven't seen anything out there specifically made for the US version. However, I have been told from a couple UK tuners that their plug-ins will work fine over here. There is at least one person who has posted their success story on this board. Too bad there isn't more information available. I mean, can't we get them to send a couple over to by dyno tested?

The UK models work here but the issue is triggering detection codes. BMS' solution will be detection code free at the default setting and they will also have a BT combo available for deleting hidden codes at the higher settings. The JBD will be similar in form and price to the JB+.

I suppose there is no problem to buy a UK model and a BT tool to clear the codes

Not a problem. Just more expensive compared to a JB+/BT package price for $429 for example. Also may not offer the same performance potential.

I ordered a 335d and will be picking it up in Munich the end of this May. I am also wondering about tuning the 335d. I spoke with a Dinan sales associate and he stated they are working on it...Approximately 2 months away. Does anyone know how a tuning package with increase torque and hp output? I assume the tune modifies the boast and timing. Or is the boast mechanically controlled?
