OK had a chance to take one out for a few minutes -- but the weather was not conducive to a real worthy test..

i have photos that will post as soon as i "unbreak" my phone (never fiddle with your droid @ 3am in the morning)

first impressions of the convertible is that its close to the same as the standard E93 -- except for the 335iS badge treatment on the gauges, passenger dash pad - close to the cup holder -

The shifter is more refined -- like in the 5 and 7series with the articulated buttons for Park and reverse lockout. -- yes it is a DCT transmisson car --

the cool thing is that the paddle shifters are just like the the M series cars with separate upshift and downshift paddles -- and YES it will do a multiple downshift if requested for those who wanted to know if this box had that type of capabilities..

the threshold moulding (cover plate when you open the door) no longer reads BMW -- its now the M logo --- Hot!!!

the power delivery is smooth with this engine/tranny combination-- car is nice and torquey closer to the bottom end -- not terrifically outstanding -- but then again the car had 4mi. on it.

once its up into the revs -- the car flys pretty good and the shifting is instantaneous .... this made me change my mind about my 6MT... its only a $1500 option, but it makes driving this car a hell of lot of fun -- scrolling thru the gears is effortless (all 7 of them) .. and keeping the car in the sweet spot is extremely easy.

then exhaust is no where close to my P/E setup, but if you get on the gas it will definitely talk back to you.. smooth low bassy growl, that turns into a sweet scream as the turbos spool up.. again -- doesnt beat the P/E though.

the interior trim will have to grow on you; looks like textured aluminum finish -- but that is not so bad if you order that black interior -- but the dakota (tan) looks a little out of place -- but thats just me...

hopefully tomorrow ill post the pics that i took, want to try to wait for one that clears PDI and Detail.... so itll be nice and shiny ..

until then ...

p.s. no OverBoost review yet, soon as i get some dry ground i get it done
