Shiv Want to Come to Detroit?

Hey everyone. I am highly considering ordering the xede , and would like shiv to tune my car. Preferably, spring time-around when he is going to Chicago. I dont know what the process or money factor is in getting him to come but I assume we rent him a hotel room and a car-so I guess however much that costs. Just trying to see if anyone else in MI is interested. I am in the Novi/Southfield/Livonia area. So let me know and perhaps we can arrange something.

Christopher

Detroit? ew...

j/k

Once again, I will consider coming anywhere just as long as:
-the tuning facilities are appropriate,
-there is enough interest
-my travel/tuning schedule permits

-shiv

Question

Shiv, since your team hasn't answered my e-mail yet, I have a few questions that perhaps you could answer on an easier basis. I am not very mechanically skilled, but understand the majority of the Xede and what not...

Anyway, my goal is to get this BMW as fast as the e92 M3. I don't know if this is possible, but I assume the Xede will do it somewhat. I heard the Xede can make my car do 240-260 hp (Xede alone) and that with the exhaust it can do 280-400hp. I am interested in getting it to at least 410, 420 maybe 450hp. Your team says that packages will come out to get it that fast, and that they all contain the Xede + exhaust as a starting point. My question is this:

1. Will the stock suspension, transmission, shocks, brakes, etc. be able to handle the 420-450hp?

2. Will the e92 M3 smoke a e92 335i with 450hp? In your opinoin. Do you know how much hp roughly the new e92 M3 will have?

3. Is 450hp possible?

4. If I order the xede and have you come to Detroit to custom tune it are we still looking at $1300 for the xede + price to custom tune?

5. Will performance parts in future packages be sold sperately from the package? I.e. you can buy an air intake seperately instead of Stage 2 which include the Xede, exhaust, and air intake.

6. Am I stupid for wanting to compete with the next M3 at 450 hp?

Thank you. I know you are a busy man, but I appreciate your time and look forward to working with you in the future.

Although I'm not Shiv, let me throw this up for thought...

1. If you haven't already done so, read through these...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38595
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37494

2. Right now, an Xede Stage 0-equipped 335i AT running on 93 octane is ~ 317-330WHP (~362-380HP) and >400 lbs.-ft. TQ with the MT's seeing even higher numbers. Shiv will be doing more tomorrow and Mon. here in S. FL.

3. The '08 BMW E92 M3 is rumored to have a ~415BHP V8, but don't forget that it may possibly be much heavier than the 335i due to the bigger V8 engine. So, it's possible that an Xede-equipped 335i might be just as fast as the '08 M3 (although probably not quite), but we won't know of course unil the new M3 comes out. Even if it's not as fast and/or doesn't handle quite as well, it could be close...not bad for a $50k 335i + a $1,300 mod (compared with a $65k+ stock M3).

if you leased: www.swapalease.com
financed: www.autotrader.com

OK, that's out of the way... now just wait a few months and buy an M3. It is going to look way better than a 335i... and it will have that amazing V8 exhaust note.
