lci headlights
hey guys,
do any of you know if the lci xenon fit on a 06 e90 330i xenon. I looking to getting my headlight replace. If there is also any modification that needed to be done? Or anyone that can do the modification to make it work with the AHL. thanks

I currently have an 08 sedan with xenon AHL. Would the '09 lci "halogens" fit on my car, being that I'm actually going from xenon to halogen? I think the wider angel eyes are better looking than the smaller pre-lci angel eyes, even if they're halogens.

I agree on the fact that the xenon looks good and it is kind of weird going backwards here. I would prefer to get xenon lcis and better yet AHL xenons, but these are expensive. Would you guys not agree, from a "look" standpoint that the LCI "halogens" loos much better than the pre-lci whether xenon or not because of 2 things: 1. the nasty orange markers and 2. the fact that the angel eyes rings are actually smaller on the pre-lci vs. the lci.
The '09+ headlights look much better and more aggressive. I don't know. Perhaps I'm going for a sexier, newer look, and cheaping out on the xenon aspect. But if someone can help me here, I know that if my was a halogen to start, it's a direct plug and play to install lci halogens. But would it be a direct plug and play to install lci halogens if mine is a pre-lci xenon? Any wiring/setup issues? Another thing, I live in Canada, and BMW NA decided recently to ban shipments of parts from US dealers (i.e. my favourite place: Tischer BMW). So we Canadians can continue getting screwed and paying double on parts. I paid $300 for my blackline taillights from Tischer last year vs. $600 here from BMW in Canada. And as I was ordering my headlights, they told me sorry, we cant ship to Canada anymore. Free trade is working so well I see. So I'm taking the family on vacation to the US and will be buying them in person. Any advice on the plug and play would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

I believe they are not plug and play for the halogen to halogen. Because of the LED turn signal. You would have to modifily that part. I would just save up and do it right one time and not regret it later on. I have seen a few LCI xenon house on ebay, all you have to do is buy those and just the ballast and bulb separt and you will save a few hundreds. That what im doing now saving for a new set of lights. Once i get the money im doing the conversion and selling my factory xenon to recover some of the money on the conversion.

From what I understand, the lci halogens (i.e 2009+) don't have LED signals. The xenon's have LED signals. See pics attached.
What I'm wondering is if 2009 halogens will plug and play into my 2008 which came with xenons. If I was buying these locally, i would just try them and if they didnt work, I would return them, but because I'm buying them from the US, kind of difficult to return them. |
