Anyone get that LSD from Koala Motorsports?

Just like the title says. If you have gotten the clutch based LSD made by Koala, let me know how it's been.

I tried to contact them about installing a diff, but they don't seen to return calls or emails. Tell me more about their diff.

I think the guys name is Brett (Austrailian guy hence Koala) and he makes a clutch based LSD for our cars. He said its better than the Quaife or Wavetrac so I just wanted to get some opinions.

I don't have issues getting a hold of Brett whenever I call, unless he isn't there. I have sent emails at 11 at night to have a response within ten minutes. Still he may be busy.

I never did the donuts and after sustaining cracks to the VS7 wheels I am back to the stock wheels and all-season rubber. With the further addition of DPs, updating my Procede to Rev.4, and the all season tires, I have traction issues again. I had RE-11 tires, which were really grippy (275 in the rear), so a big part is the type of tire you use.

Despite the loss in traction overall, you can sill feel the diff working as you accelerate out of the corner. As I mentioned in the original thread, the car has a narrower point of where it wants to go sideways, but it is easy enough to control with the throttle once there. Just don't ever drop off the accelerator or you may find a rapid change in direction in your future.

Interesting, good thread. Any issues with the LSD so far? How many miles do you have on it?

It was installed in July of 2007, so that would put me at near 70k miles. I get the lube changed every 15000 miles and so far I have no issues with it. There is a 3 year/unlimited miles warranty that comes with it, but I highly doubt you would ever have to worry about it.

Note that sometime in 2008 (somebody correct this if wrong), BMW started welding the ring gear to the differential. This will require more work/parts, but be sure to talk to Brett about whatever you may need.
