Xede-equipped 335i Coupe 1/4 Mi. Timed w/ G-Tech

Ok, so I finally got my hands on my brother's G-Tech timer, and we timed my Xede-eqipped 335i Coupe (Xede Stage 0) on a 1/4 mi. run. A few things to note...

1. We set the car's weight conservatively at 4,030 lbs. (I had all my work stuff in the trunk, ~ 6 gal. of gas, and both of us in the car).
2. I have an AT/Step w/ Paddle Shifters.
3. I turned off DSC, but left DTC on...just a quick press of the DTC button; didn't hold down the DTC button to turn everything off.
4. I launched in M1 and used my Paddle Shifters.
5. I launched without revving the engine at all; straight from a stand still and no left foot brake, right foot gas thing...just like a regular launch.
6. We couldn't accurately get a 0-60mph timed, but we did get a good reading for the 1/4 mi.

1/4 mi. in 12.44 sec. @ 122.8mph

By our estimates, we think we could've been able to do 0-60mph in ~ 4.1-4.4 sec. without a doubt! Maybe someone else w/ an Xede-equipped 335i can time a 0-60mph run w/ a G-Tech timer to see if this is accurate.

JESUS CHRIST, 12.4 on the 1/4 mile isnt all that great but that trap speed O_O

what did your car dyno (gains not total)

also i think setting the weight is only a factor when its trying to calculate HP

did you repeat that at all and in what conditions

I don't have much experience with Gtech meters or how they work (I had the PRO one in my E46, but it couldn't get a reading because of "alternator shielding" ), but even if that is figuring those #'s very optimistically, they are still very impressive. I'm assuming that you are able to brake boost with the step trans? I wonder how a 6MT would stack up to that. Thanks for reporting the good news.

After Xede, my car dyno'd at 322WHP and 378 wheel TQ. The time was duplicated, adn I still think I could've launched a lot better as I launched without revving it up at all. The conditions were dry, temp was ~ 74 degrees F, ~ 55% R.H. on a sunny day today in S. FL.

Awesome numbers

I have to say though, I will be shocked beyond belief if a stage 0 car actually traps at or anywhere near 123mph. These numbers are cool but the only numbers that really count are ones from an official dragstrip with a printed timeslip.

For instance I have no idea why you have to enter the cars weight since elapsed time is elapsed time, not an estimate

Anyway, nice work, I can't wait to see some actual timeslips from stage 0 and stage I cars.

Yeah, the weight figures may have been just for calculating HP or whatever, but we entered it in anyway, just in case. Anyhow, that's the time we got as I described. It was a lot of fun!

as i mentioned it has an option to calculate torque and HP, which it needs the weight to do properly

ive heard that they are pretty acurate

Yes, my car was dyno'd before and after Xede install, and I posted these numbers in several threads on here...

Stock: 265WHP Xede: 322WHP
Stock: 286 wheel TQ Xede: 378 wheel TQ

is that right? i thought the gains were a lot lower than that for just the xede, thats like what vishnu got w/ the exauhst right

According to the manual it's the other way around. This turns off DSC but leaves DTC. The components of DSC except for DTC probably wouldn't do much in a straight line anyway. DTC would limit wheel slip which may or may not be what you wanted.

the time would be better with only the driver in the car. i would like to see that 1/4 mile time.

The Xede-only (Stage 0) kit, running on 93/94 Octane gas are seeing an add'l ~ 50+ WHP and 70+ wheel TQ! I'm running on 93 octane gas.

Yes, my brother and I talked about that; we figured without all the work stuff in my trunk and with just me in the car, I might have done the 1/4 mi. in ~ 12.0-12.2 sec.!!!!

Incredible. Any wheel spin? RFTs don't hook like other tires from what I've been told.

SFl> did you have a 6MT before? My wife can't drive a manual so I'm contemplating an automatic.

Did someone say that 12.4 wasn't that good?! Let's see, you went from a magazine average of 13.6(or worse) to a 12.4, so you picked up 1.2 seconds, how can anybody possibly think that isn't that good for a 2 wheel drive no LSD automatic car? I'm not an advocate for the Xede for other reasons, but you have to admit for that little money, to pick up over a second, it's a fantastic value. Bear in mind that you have to spend as much or more than that to make an STI do 12.4's and it's AWD. I don't want to start another STI war, just pointing out a competitive car that normally runs 13.3's and is AWD would need as much or more money spent to achieve the same thing this RWD no LSD car was able to do. Frankly I would have guessed something in the 13 flats based on power to weight, traction, and the auto trans. I say, congrats on picking up some serious 1/4 increases for a small wad of cash.

That 1/4-mile time is quick, but that fast terminal speed is almost hard to believe. I'd like to see these done on the dragstrip.

Shoot, if these are close to being true, forget the M3.

yea i said that, just FYI an lsd doesnt do shiet in a straight line, and 12.4 is good but im 100% sure he can run faster (or atleast someone with a stick) that trap speed shows that
