no doubt, was seeing if the craftsman was a bargin for the price of $50. Ive had my eye on the porter cable for awhile now. thanks for the advice

You'll have to buy a German equivalent though or do some extensive testing on speeds. These things run on alternating current and the cycles in Germany are different. A transformer (you'll need the big bertha for this) will lower the voltage but will not change the cycles. Accordingly, the buffer will run about 20% slow so you'll need to fiddle with it to get the proper speeds. Stay away from those autostore buffers with the motor on top - they are really bad. |

the only time a buffer of that nature is good is when you are doing large areas at a time like a motorhome and you just simply need to spread wax over a large area. I would not use it on anything with a clear coat.
