Pressure Washers
I am thinking of buying a pressure washer to wash the car.
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en I am just not sure how useful it really is, I mean so far I can clean/detail my car with just a bucket. I have been to those DYI car wash with PW and its good to remove dust brakes and other stuff.

i have been in the market for some time for a pressure washer and have done some asking around. Everyone says do not get a plastic/electric one because they leak and most of them die after about 3-5 times, those are the ones in the 150 price range. If your gonna buy one, then your gonna spend in the 300 range. Hope this helps

Agreed on the electric pressure washers. They are almost all junk, save for a few models that reach up into the $1,000 + range. If you spend $300, you can get a nice gas-powered pressure washer that should last a while. Once you use a foam canon on a pressure washer to lather up your car, you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. Beyond that, pressure washers have SO many more uses that just washing the car, especially if you are a home owner. Absolutely worth the investment.

ive got an electric "karcher" brand. It's been very reliable. I bought it about 5 years ago for around 300. i must of used it over 100 times and it has never leaked, never broke, and for an extra 10$ i got a foam gun addon for it. the same one now would probably go for half the price. i wouldnt be surprised if cheap brands give you problems so just get something decent.

Warning!
If you use a pressure washing make sure you are careful with the tires. I've known pressure washing that literally knock out the balance weights on the tires. I think they're just glued in.

I got a troy built 2700 psi gas powered washer in may and it is a day and night difference between it and the two previous electric washers I had. The electric ones that I had (task force and marched) lasted about 8-10 times then started to leak. Picked up the Troy built at Lowes for 329.99...and would highly recommend it.

The gas powered ones are such a pain in the ass. The fewer gas engines to maintain in my house the better. I've had a higher end Karcher electric on for about 2 yrs now -- excellent.

I am sure gas is better but, for just very simple applications, I assume that the electric is good enough...
Is a "foam cannon" very specific nozzle or gun?
