Part of the reason I almost never want to send money via paypal as a "Gift". I know there are benefits to it, but the chance of stuff like this is just to much to risk.

wow if this is true, that's messed up...if your cc company is worth anything you should be able to dispute, it shouldn't matter if paypal "allows" it or not. Once the charges are reversed it WILL get their attention and force them to step in (as worthless as they are...sorry, not a big paypal fan lol). Anyways good luck with this, always hate to hear these kind of stories.

He was in a hurry for tires since I had bought his P40s.

He doesnt track his car so nice try.

As for the paypal thing...i would never send as a gift, because then you have no recourse...it nullifies the whole purpose of paypal to begin with! Especially not for something like this where clearly the stated condition is up for debate!

I would trust Anup with my first born. He is a good guy and I know him in person not just from M3post.

Anup and 05Mdriver I recommend taking it to pm and working it out. It seems there is a problem on both sides and I know that Anup would be more than happy to work it out.

Being a newbie here (and having bought $500 worth of fake tickets for game 5 of the NLCS), what is the safest way to to transact the puchase of something (such as wheels being shipped to you).

Starting 11/01/2010, Paypal.com's policy changed and now offers buyer's protection to non-ebay purchases, if the items is not as described for whatever reason, etc. Double check with them though.
