I'm not an audiophile but like to listen to music in the car sometimes. To sum it up the standard system in my 06 e60 was adequate for me . I've decided not to specify the USB port in my F10 and want to ask:

1- what cable(s) do I need to connect my ipod to the aux port?
2- assuming decent quality cables are used, is the sound reproduction using aux port really as bad as posts on this forum suggest. I'm prepared to accept the much reduced functionality of no USB>

1: Normal minijack to minijack cable.
2: I tried both. Go for the USB/Ipod connection. Sound is better, and you control your pod from the idrive.

As far as I know the USB is standard; I didn't have to specify it on my 535d.
