Satnav update???

I am not going to say what as it might be me going crazy. Has anyone else notice that Satnav looks different recently? More detail on the map?

I haven't noticed, but I only use it when I need directions to an unknown location, so I haven't paid it much attention lately; I'll make a point of having a closer look tomorrow and let you know.
Any changes would imply some sort of automatic updating system; as far as I know this can only be done at the dealership.

Check your i drive. You may have decreased the elevation to a lower number which in turn increases the detail of the map.

Just my $.02

Have a Happy Thanksgiving

No differences noted this morning; what did you see to prompt the question?

Hi,
Just received 2 weeks ago my new 520d with pro navigation.
Compared to my old 520 business nav (1/2008) and my 135i (07/2009) pro nav, there are a lot of changes :

-Zoom down to 25m (not sure if it was 100 or 50 in the old)
-3D view of highway exits and other direction arrows in the center of the computer display (between the speed and Rpm's)
-Satelite view (photo) as from 2km zoom out (looks goergous)
-System is very fast reacting

Hope it helps !

On a related note, anybody here previously or still have a 3-series with navigation? I had a 2008 335 and notice that the old navigation showed many more street names compared to my 2011 535, both zoomed to 200m. Sometimes, there are no street names showing at all depending on where I am. Also the satellite view that has been mentioned and I have seen photos of, is this not on North American cars? I can't seem to find the satellite view on my car.

Satellite view should be there, go to "Options", then "Settings" and look for option named "Satellite Images" or something like this.
